The benefits of giving God glory

Text: Luke 17:15–19
In Luke 17, we read about the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus. Yet, only one returned to give glory to God. Jesus acknowledged his gratitude and declared, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.” This story shows us a profound truth, giving glory to God is not just a form of worship; it is a pathway to deeper blessings.
Glorifying God is more than saying “thank You.” It is a lifestyle of acknowledging Him as the source of every good thing in our lives. When we honour Him, we open the door to divine benefits that no man can give.
Here are four major benefits of giving God glory:
-
Divine Multiplication and Favor (John 15:8)
When we glorify God, He multiplies His blessings in our lives. Gratitude attracts increase. The one leper who returned to thank Jesus received more than healing—he received wholeness. Likewise, when we give God the glory, He pours out favour that causes His blessings to overflow.
-
Greater Manifestation of God’s Presence (Psalm 22:3)
Glorifying Him is a sure way to experience more of His power and presence daily. God inhabits the praises of His people. When you give Him glory, you invite His presence to dwell with you. His presence is the greatest treasure you can carry. It brings peace in the storm, strength in weakness, and direction in confusion.
-
Protection from Pride and Downfall (James 4:12)
When you give God the glory, you remain in a safe place of humility where His grace continually lifts you up and shields you from destruction. Acknowledging God as the source of your success keeps pride far from your heart. Pride leads to downfall, but humility attracts grace.
-
Open Doors for More Testimonies
You position yourself for what God is about to do next whenever you appreciate Him for what He has done. Just as the leper’s gratitude opened the door to complete wholeness, your act of giving glory will open doors to new miracles. Thanksgiving and glory-giving are magnets for fresh testimonies.
Do not withhold the honour due to God. The more we give God glory, the more we experience His hand at work in our lives. Return the glory to the One who healed, blessed, lifted, and saved you. As you do, expect multiplication, His manifest presence, divine protection, and an overflow of testimonies. Take a moment today to pause, reflect, and give Him the glory.
