God Builds With Glory Greater Than The Former

Text: Nehemiah 2:17–20

As I meditated on this, my heart was drawn to reflect on my own journey. Looking back, I realise that if I had lived life strictly on my own terms, it would have been a disaster. But by yielding to the will of God, I have seen His hand of restoration, guidance, and mercy.

Beloved, there are two things I want you to ponder deeply; Language and the Word.

Language and Word are not the same. Language can be learned, but the Word is divine, eternal, and living. Scripture reveals that God Himself is the Word. When God speaks restoration, He does not merely return things to their former state, He makes them better than before.

Haggai 2:9 declares: “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former…” Joel 2:25–26 reminds us that God restores what the locust has eaten. And Isaiah 40:3 calls us to prepare for His visitation. You need to understand this, that it is not those who hurt you that will comfort you—it is the God of heaven and earth. When He rebuilds, the foundation is stronger, the walls are higher, and the glory is greater.

Are you waiting patiently for the promise of God? What He has spoken will surely come to pass. His will is unshakable, as long as we remain steadfast.

Four Key Truths about Restoration

  1. The glory of the restored house will be greater.

God will give you a new name that silences every mocking voice. Lift your eyes and think of great things.

  2. Nothing can alter God’s will except disobedience.

The only thing that can hinder His plan in your life is when you lose your character, disobey His instruction, or abandon His ways (Joel 2:25–26; Isaiah 40:31).

  3. Restoration comes with new energy.

The Spirit of God strengthens you to rise again, even when life has drained you.

  4. Restoration comes with knowledge.

Every trial comes with lessons. In God’s rebuilding process, He equips you with wisdom to walk stronger than before.

Don’t take the Lord’s work lightly. He is already at work rebuilding lives, families, dreams, and destinies, but you must be prepared. Search your heart. Are your troubles from the world, or are they self-inflicted? The answer will guide your position and stand before God.

Personally when my heart grows heavy, I speak to God. People may delay you, distract you, or discourage you, but God never will. Only He can raise a man. Yes, I have my low moments too, but I refuse to stay down because His Word assures me, “All things will be well.” So I leave you with this question brethren…

Are you truly prepared to recover all that has been lost? If you are, then stand firm in faith, hold on to His Word, and let God who rebuilds raise your life into a testimony of His glory.
